Motherwell records highest house price growth in Scotland

House prices in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire rose at the highest rate in Scotland in 2021, recording the largest increase in both percentage terms at 17.3% and in cash terms at £26,103.00, rising to £177,118.00.

According to figures issued by the Bank of Scotland, average house prices across Scotland climbed by 8.8% in 2021 – substantially ahead of the UK increase of 6.2%.

The average Scottish home costs £207,778.00 up £16,761.00 on the 2020 figure.

Average house prices dropped in only two of the Scottish towns included in the study (Airdrie & Coatbridge) compared to 7 in 2020.  Airdrie recorded the largest fall with a drop of 3.8% to £150,874.00

Edinburgh remains the most expensive place to buy a home in Scotland with an average price of £293,406.00, up 7% on 2020.
